I recently began using pegboard for some tools and winter clothing in my garage. It's definitely not as nice as Gridwall or Slatwall, but I was surprised how nice it does look. I painted mine white, but you can get it already painted if you want. For the price, I think pegboard is an excellent garage storage solution. Does anyone else here use it? If so, what do you store on it?

I used peg board in my current garage, and also painted mine white.I used my peg board to hang misc. items that didn't really have a home in my tool box and others things that are used often. At one end at the bottom corner I had my paper towel dispensor mounted to it,and beside that some peg board attachments that held onto my broom(small household broom).
I am not to sure if I am going to go with the peg board in the new garage,I do like and it is handy as heck but I guess I just haven't thought that far ahead as the new garage isn't finished inside..yet.

I was going to use it but have enough room in toolboxes. I am going to try and keep my garage as free of everything as possible when its done.
Ben can we some pics of your garage?

Sure, I only have a few pics of my garage so far... it's a work in progress. They can be found with the link in my profile. Except for the home page (my sister's garage) any other pics on any of the pages are of my garage. I'll be adding more down the road. Someday, I'd like to get a higher quality camera!

Yeah, I have two pegboards up in the garage and they actually work quite well. I particularly like the one above the tool table because it helps keep it uncluttered.

Thanks! :)
I'm trying to make the web site as informative and useful as possible. I got frustrated surfing the net for content, and finding nothing but product advertisements. Companies pay big bucks for 1st or 2nd page search results. Good for them...but I think doing so reduces the quality of the internet. When I want to know what options are out there for garage floor coverings, I don't want to sift through page after page of promos and ads. Now, I understand advertising will be wherever the internet goes, and sometimes I do look for specific products. In addition, Google or Yahoo ads on pages don't really bother me. But hopefully, this site wil become a great resource for people looking for informtation and options without being bombarded by certain or specific manufacturers. I'm always looking to add more content, so any suggestions are always welcome.

Pegboard has helped me a lot. Now that I am finally starting to use it I am finding I can put rather large wrenches up on it.

I can't be sure if i'll use pegboard or not when i finish my lil garage. Maybe in a limited way for speciality tools. Maybe i could set this garage up a lil better than my current workspace pictured below next to the pics of the garage as it nears completion. During the build of the garage i've been storing all my tools in my lil shed at night instead of toting them back to the garage.I'm curious about this metal pegboard redltg spoke of.Never ever seen any i don't believe.

Good enough for any house or garage. I also found perfect shelving for a pegboard, too. Check out the web-site www.Holdzmore.com

I like the white 4x8 sheets. You can build a frame around it if you like and paint the frame to match tool storage, etc....Price is very good, too.
I use mine not so much for tools that belong in tool boxes but for display of auto related items, tags, signs, etc.
With this you don't put holes in your walls and can change things anytime you feel the urge. You can almost cover a wall with this as fast as you could paint it and it is not as much trouble.

It is a great way to cut the cost and also show a bit of class, weather it's in the garage or home. Its durable and cost effective!http://i712.photobucket.com/albums/ww123/HOLDZMORE/workbench.jpg

Nice call on the pegboards! Is there a good place online to buy the pegboards and shelving all at once?

Newbie - finsihing my new garage (26x32) and want to install aluminum peg boards. The ones I have looked at are advertised as having 1/4 inch holes. Some reviews complain about hooks falling out because holes are too big. My old hardboard peg board has 1/8 holes and hooks. Anyone know of aluminum peg boards with 1/8 holes? Appologize if this has been discussed previously - to lazy to look. Thanks.

Just get the heavy duty hooks that are used with the 1/4 holes. If you are going with the metal board for strength why downgrade to 1/8 anyway?

Strength is only part of it aluminum checker plate looks good to just want one with the same size holes as my old hardboard one.
