Just thought I should make everyone aware of the Sams Club flooring. I am considering going with it. You can't beat it for the price:
http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=329379

It is not the same quality as Race Deck but it is not the same price either.

Dollar for dollar it offers a ton of value.

It is click together and the tiles do not seal together.

Anymore questions about it just let me know.

Looks great, but I won't shop at Sam's Club (or Wal-Mart) for that matter. I know I save on some great deals, but it's more of a moral stance for the way they treat their employees.

Now there is a good debate...

I have buddy who is a union rep and gets upset every time I step foot into walmart.

I think that it is almost worst for us, because we are in Canada, so no only is there the view of how employees are treated their is the moral dilemma of supporting non-Canadian companies.

That's not to say that I am not a huge fan of the United States, I am!!!! But it is still nice to support local businesses.

For me, if I am buying something like golf clubs I try and support a local business but if I run out to grab deodorant I get whats convenient and cheap.

Although to tell you the truth I do a lot of shopping online, heck I bought I motorcycle from 2000 miles away -- in York, PA, USA.

That's enough rambling for now... but I respect your moral stance.

Well, thanks. I was kind of bracing myself after I sent that post through because I wasn't looking for a huge debate or anything.

For me when I go to a store I just want to be well treated and get a sale, not really thinking about politics. I enjoy shopping at almost every store I go .

Low paying jobs affect us all -- in a negative way

That's true about low paying jobs but those are everywhere. It's really rare to find a great paying job, as well as a great employer. The reason I don't go to Wal-mart is I HATE going. It's always overcrowed and gives me a miserable time.

Wow! My first post to this forum and I'm in the middle of it!

Un-naturally high-paying jobs affect us even worse. I'll be happy to explain my stance if you do the same.:)

Welcome to the forums JeepN95YJ.

What are some examples of un-naturally high-paying jobs? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Maybe, I'm being a little thin-skinned here, but I think, Mr. Jacobs, that you could be a little less desrespectful. It is easy to phrase questions in such a way that you do not come off as arrogant or rash.

I participate in forums that I think will give me enjoyment. I have a 20 x 20 home garage that I am trying to find clever ideas for use as my primary Jeep workshop.

After finally reading through enough posts on this forum to get an idea of the content, it is apparent to me that there isn't enough useful content for me to continue participation.

I know, I know. "Don't let the door hit me on the way out"

JeepN95YJ...

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I still have no idea what an un-naturally high paying job is.

I'd love to hear about the high paying jobs, an interesting view I am sure. I did read a study that said those who are paid most are least happy. It came down to time being worth more than money and high earners spend too much time working.

Lets get along :D

Hummmmmmmm....lets see,i wanna take care of my family,do proper maint to my rides, and if a little lucky with smart shopping,i'll save some money for the day i retire and just hang out in my garage. How can i do this...well if i don't first get a job that pays me what i need...then i make the changes with my life to make things better. Meanwhile i move on while many moan and groan about oooh...such and such don't pay their employees enough money....but yet have you ever seem to notice how many of these "underpaid employees manage to afford smokes... ...bottom line is...life is what you make it....and people are only responsible for what they earn because of how little they ( on adverage) apply themselves. While all the while companies like wal-mart manages to do what makes them successful. they deliver many products at a better price than thier competition. It's smart economics and then theres this fact. Life is what YOU make it,no one else carries that responsibility. A little note,i've worked since i was 14....i've made good money...i've also had very low paying (but labor intensive) jobs...and all the time kept on going till i could improve myself. I'm not very intellegent...not college grad or even had the chance to attend and at 52 i still earn less than 21,000 a year. But my life is what i made it....and i applaude all people and Co's that achieve success. Thats the one goal we should all try for.

Good outlook mate!

No point in feeling sorry for yourself. I hear things everyday that make feel really luck to be who I am and have what I have.

Some interesting views here- Not only are there issues with how walmart treast their employees but they also ruin American made family companies. They are well known for taking an Made int he USA product, go to China and have a factory with $3.00 a day workers copy the product ( usually at a much lesser quality) and then sell it dirt cheap here in the USA. Sure the customer may pay a little less, but if it is he who is out of a job because the company he used to work for is put out of business is now gone it does not matter.
Besides all of that, have you seen this tile at Walmart? Junk! I do not see how saving a couple of hundred dollars on a large garage has any value in the long run when the quality is not there?

Just an old guy $.02

I'll buy that oldguy. Up here in Canada, i do my low cost shopping at superstore, they are unioned and pay their staff well, not to say i am a fan of unions, just that i believe they are less evil than walmart and have good products at a good prices.
