On bigfloors.com they have GarageTrac for $1.98 sq. ft. Anyone know anything about it? Good/bad? Can you cut it to go around a curved area?

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry for the multiple posts. Admin took awhile to post it, so I reposted. Anyway, you can cut these tiles with a reciprocal say I was told by manufacturer.

I am familiar with Swisstrax. However, I am not familiar with Garage Trac so I went on BigFloors.com and researched it.

There is a definate difference!

Swisstrax . 20 locks per tile
Garage Trac . 16 locks per tile

Having 5 points on each side (20 locks per tile) assures that the tiles will not pop appart while wheels are turning on them.

Swisstrax . Rollover exceeds 40,000 lbs.
Garage Trac . Only 25,000 lbs.

That speaks for itself!

Swisstrax . 4 points of injection of PolyPropelene
Garage Trac . 1 point of injection of ?

The benefit of this is that the material is distributed more evenly throughout the mold preventing the edges from eventially curling up.

Swisstrax . 5120 psi
Garage Trac . ?

You can jack a car on our tiles without issue!

Spillage...

Swisstrax . pop out only the tiles needed to clean area
Garage Trac . take out entire row

Swisstrax . 12 year guarantee
Garage Trac . 10 year guarantee

I hope that this was helpful! :D

check out www.swisstrax.com and contact us directly for the best price! We are the manufacturer! 866.7748.7940

Claggie -
We manufacture RaceDeck all in house. ( we actually manufacture at our location from the molds that make our multi-patent floors to the finished product).

I usually do not respond to competitors bashing, but I found this thread very insteresting in how someone would take what everyone in the industry knows as faults and turned into a 'selling' feature.
I want to clear up some of the myths I have read about design, material and constructions. We manufacture our products using propietary processes and technologies that can not be matched. There is a reason why RaceDeck / Snaplock industries manufactures more module tiles a month than any competitor does in an entire year.

What is single point Vs 4-6-9 point injection?- It sure sounds good to have more, but infact the single point system we use is far more costly and more costly to run- Why we do it?- A simple way to explain is this, modular flooring in injection molded and by having it flow through a single point and flow evenly throughout creates a super strong tile. When you have multiple injection points, the plastic flows until it hits the next flow of plastic and this creates what we call part lines, a weak point. Our tiles will not snap or crack in half when you bend them or drop a heavy object.

PSI loads? - anyone who claims over 5000 psi is stating that is stronger than concrete? really

4 locks Vs 6 Locks Vs 8 locks - Our family has been manufacturing modular flooring for over 30 years and I can tell you the only reason to have excessive locks is due to poor design in both locks and the tile. Most who have numerous lock do so to try to keep the tiles flat anf the corner from coming up ( some even dome thier tiles to try and prolong this from happening).
The other is poor lock design- When you have a very small lock where the thin loops simply hang on the outer wall, you need more locks.
With RaceDeck, taking out a single tile is very simple and done with a thin putty knife to disengage the patented locking system.

Again- I really do not like to bash any competitor as I feel the products and the history of a company speaks for itself. I just found these claims about what are clearly 'faults' and spun as positives Humorous.

Just for fun I went on the an official Concrete website to see the PSI rating of various concrete.
2500 psi - lightweight building components.
3500 psi - for interior building components
4000 psi - Driveways, sidewalks , garages,
5000 psi - the highest industrial strength available

5120 psi - Wow  Now that is amazing.

Funny how a few facts kill a conversation! :D

Classy response and great information Racedeck, thanks!

I put in the GarageTrac in my three car garage in about 3 hours. It has been 2 months and all is well. Very nice stuff. Very satisfied.

Only thing I have to be careful of is I cannot put my motorcycle kickstand down on the tile directly or it will scuff/dent it. I use a rubber coaster and it works fine.

I came across it for the first time in awhile after giving up on the idea but wanted to know if anyone on here has ever used it.

I have a 3 car garage... its abnormally larger then any other 3 car garage i've been in. How much would it typically cost for a 3 car garage?
