Mine is a 18x24,though i went with 10' ceiling. Do you have restrictions of how high you can go? Pics of mine are in The Build section and soon i'll try to add some new ones after i've added a lil storage.I'll have to use my camera to do the pics as i've been without my camera since it died on me!

Youch!!!!! 15'x20' isn't very big at all. Can you go larger if is attached to to your house by means of a breezeway or something or ask for a variance for a larger footprint? I've attached a couple of pics of one side of my garage. It is a 14'x24' and with a bench, and a little larger car it gets real tight. I could gain some room by taking all of the shelves off of the wall and making a smaller bench, but even at that, you still have to turn sideways to do some things.

i could go 15x24, maybe 16x24. it all has to do with the location of the house and the town setback requirements.

Nice way to use a small space. Theres a ton of storage in there, great job.

Sirswank, remember to use your ceiling space for hanging storage shelves to help keep your floor space clear. I use to have a garage close to 15 x 20, and keeping stuff off the floor and the lower half of the walls was key in maximizing the space.

It's interesting to read the British motorcycle magazines like Performance Bike, as almost everyone over in the UK have only 1 car garages and they maximise the space by putting everything up off the floor.

Good luck on your build.

I would just be sure to keep the cabinets on either side at no more than
18 inches deep. You may even just install them above counter height. This will keep you around twelve feet open floor space.
