hey guys. I'm new here.
Well we just bought our first home.
As a big car nut that I am I want my Garage to be my workspace on the cars.
UNFORTUNATELY It's a starter home and the garage is small. About 10 ft wide.
Ok what have you guys done with respect to garage storage?
Goal is to keep all car related stuff in the garage, and dedicate the in house storage for everything else non related to cars.
I don't want to walk throught the house to pick something up from the basement storage when I'm working on the cars at the risk of hearing my cleanfreak wife snap on me.
Now this isn't for tools. it's more for things that need to be used 1-2 times a year. Rim storage for example.
Any ideas for a small garage? I'm thinking something overhead.

the only way it seems is to go overhead or wall storage

While i've yet to put any real storage together in my garage as i have a "temporary" projec car in it,i do also believe going up with storage can help. Somewhere on the site i once saw someone show some pics of some racks they bought, used allthread rod and suspended the racks just above the garage door,a space most of us prob overlook for possible seasonal type storage. The pics prob within the storage solution threads...

Check SCCA sites, they have rim/wheel racks that you mount on the wall. They're like $100-200 and hold like 6 wheels I think. I'll be getting one to keep mine off the floor too.

Ahh yes you do have a coffin, lol. That's about my size, but I'm currently checking out expanding.
Nice lude, that was my 2nd car (88Si) and I loved it. Do you autox it or is it just for fun?
I'm looking for the wheel rack I was talking about, I see them all the time in my autox mags.

Now all you need is some overhead storage. Hyloft (http://hyloft.com/) has some awesome overhead storage units. Give them a look.
Overhead storage is awesome, when you have a small storage closet in side your home that is full. You can install the overhead storage unit and move all the big things like, Christmas decorations or luggage bags onto the overhead storage unit. Then you will have the inside storage back for other smaller things.

My son will stay in Catalina for about 10 hours.
Hes going to be kayaking, snorkeling and doing other activities that require him to store luggage.
Any information here?
