Are you looking for a plan for the cabinets or the actual cabinets?

What sort of budget? You might try a combination of gladiator garage works: http://www.gladiatorgw.com/cabinets.asp?catID=3

Or http://www.showroomgarage.com/

Personally what I would do, providing is go to a local cabinet shop (check the yellow pages) and have them make you something. That is what I am doing, and it is cheaper than a lot of garage specific applications. Alternatively, checking your local buy and sell for old cabinets is good idea, you can often find an entire kitchen of nice cabinets for $200-500 and then paint the doors.

How come you could only go 24 inches wide? Wide or deep, I am little confused there?

Take some pictures as your installing as well, I am excited to see them. How about some pics of your garage as is?

You ask why only 24 inches wide, ive been to just about every lumberyard, and cabinet maker, unless i want to invest like big time, Standard cabinets are 24 inches wide, anything else is called custoum made, better get out the bankbook, because you will need it then!! I wanted full opening drs. in front, even that was hard to get, everbody was trying to sell me a open shorter version with fake upper slidding drs., thats not what i wanted period. After 3 ft. lengths cabinets come in 3 inch added longer. I can get the 6ft. 3 inch with approx. 6 inches left so i elected to go this route.

Right now biggest problem i face now is, what kind of top to put on it?? I was told to get a solid maple dr. have it ripped to size and then clue it down or use finishing nails.

How is it going with the cabinets?

I made a work bench and used MDF. Its heavy, I just got home depot to rip it for me. However your probably going for a cleaner look. Maple sounds like a good choice. The other thing you can do is cover the top... say MDF with black rubber mat.

In my shed I built my own open bench accross the back wall.

I use 2 x 2 thin wall tube and just cut it with the drop saw and migged it together.

It is 36 inches deep, waist height and goes the full width of the centre bay......30 feet.

The top and a shelf halfway up are both from 2" MDF, laminated all around.

I put double power points every 8 feet in the wall behind it AND let into the front of it.

I later added a 10 ft deep mezanine above it, again 30 ft wide, with lights on the underside to illuminate the bench.

Also the front edge of the mezanine is a 10" RSJ, with a traveling block and chain block.

I have a second RSJ between the middle uprights, so I can lift bodies or chassis between the two gantry's to munt them on my rotisery
